Since the inception of the department in 1997, the faculty has grown not only in numbers but also in the experience and qualifications that its members have brought with them.
In the earlier years the department saw a lot of contactual and part-time lecturers and instructors giving their best to give it a firm foundation. Some of them are still with us. The faculty salutes them -- Mr A B Mukherjee, Mr S S Satsangi, Mr T P Singh, Mr B C Sinha, Mrs Rachna Mohan, Mrs Monika Taneja, Mrs Veena Chopra, Ms Mandvi Dixit, Mrs Shalini Bisht, Ms Meenal Jain and Ms Sonia.
By the end of the 20th century the department was stronger as there was a posted strength of three contractual lecturers, one permanent lecturer and two part time faculty members.Within a few months the faculty had a staff of three permanent lecturers, one contractual lecturer and two part time faculty members.
The three permanent lecturers who are with us have been recruited by the UPSC as Class I Gazetted Officers. They bring with them rich, hands-on experience from the fashion/textile/garment industry.
One last interesting feature about the faculty is that it has reached its present peak in performance without a permanent HOD. This speaks very highly of the involvement and morale of the faculty members, as they have not only given their best but have also given their full cooperation to whoever has been appointed as In-charge of the department.
